My car was a standard and very basic no power windows, no power locks, no air conditioning, etc. The only time I’ve ever locked my keys in my car was this summer. I got in the car, saw both of my daughters in the rearview mirror (the oldest climbed in the car in the meantime), reversed of the driveway, the door of my oldest daughter was still open and hooked on a concrete pole and came right off. So my brain went 'all set, lets take off'.

Out of habit, I walked back around the car to get my youngest daughter (who was already strapped in), when I came around, I saw my youngest strapped in, which I normally only see when my oldest is strapped in and I'm walking to the driver seat.

One day, my oldest daughter had to go to the toilet last minute, so I already put the portable car seat(with my youngest daughter in it) in the car, buckled her up and closed the door, then i walked around the car to open the door for my oldest daughter to climb in, and that is when the brain-fart happened. My routine was: put my youngest daughter in de portable car seat, walk around the car and open the backdoor on the passenger side so my oldest daughter could climb in the car, walk back to the house to get the portable car seat, put the portable car seat in the back at the driver side and close the door, walk around the car where my oldest daughter had time to climb in, buckle her up and close the door, walk around the car to get in myself, back up off the driveway and we're off.
